A landing page and a business website can look similar, but they work differently. A landing page focuses attention on one goal. A business website builds a broader information architecture and can grow visibility across multiple topics.
Choose a landing page when
- you are running one campaign,
- you have one offer and one primary CTA,
- you want to test messaging quickly,
- traffic comes mainly from advertising, email or social media.
A business website has the advantage when
- you sell several services,
- the customer needs references, FAQ, company information and separate pages,
- you want to build organic traffic for different search intents,
- the offer will grow over time.
Do not turn a landing page into a mini portal
If one page has 18 sections, five different offers and three equal-priority CTAs, it usually stops being a landing page. A simple website with logical navigation is then the better solution.
